What makes the Donaubergland special?
The region
The highest mountains, the deepest valleys of the Swabian Alb, that is the Donaubergland.
Mountain and valley: Heuberg and Upper Danube Valley, the Baar plateau and the Hegaualb.
It is precisely the contrasts that characterize the region and give it its distinctive face. It is rare to find such diverse landscapes so close together.
And everything is surrounded by the Black Forest to the west, Lake Constance to the south and the Upper Swabian Plain to the southeast.
The contrasting landscapes also characterize the 41 towns and villages in the Donaubergland region. Tuttlingen, the world center of medical technology, is at the heart of it all, as are the numerous pretty small towns and villages.
And – of course – the self-confident and economically strong communities on the heights of the Heuberg.
